Charles Portsmouth
Managing Director, FiRST
Charles is a chartered accountant with 30 years experience of the insurance industry. During his training and subsequent career with Ernst and Young (1978 - 1990) he specialised in providing audit and other services to the firm's insurance clients, working with insurance brokers, London market insurance companies and Lloyd's syndicates.
Since leaving the profession Charles has held positions as the Group Finance Director of an insurance broking group (1990 to 1993), the Executive Director of New London Capital plc, a Lloyd's corporate vehicle (1994 - 2000) and as the Finance Director of a Lloyd's Managing Agency (2001 - 2008). Charles joined Axiom in 2008 to become the Managing Director of FiRST.
