Axiom assists the insurance industry with issues arising from exposures to asbestos, environmental contamination and various health hazards. APH liabilities are affected by new legal rulings, jurisdiction changes and settlement proposals, which can create considerable financial uncertainty. Many organisations are looking to reduce these uncertainties and related capital requirements ahead of Solvency II.
Axiom has a range of APH services; from coverage analysis, to claim compilation, allocation of losses, through to the assessment and presentation of outwards reinsurance recoveries. Clients increasingly using Axiom's data cleansing service as part of any APH project to identify and correct errors in legacy data and to improve reserving accuracy.
The APH Team is lead by Keith Rayment. Keith has been working on asbestos and health hazard issues since the early 1980s. He is a recognised leader and expert in product liability issues and has built a well regarded team. Keith has served as director of the Asbestos Claims Facility and he was a member of the London Asbestos Working Party.
Axiom has a successful track record of advising clients on issues relating to their potential future liabilities and assisting in financial claims planning or achieving finality through policy buy-outs, settlement negotiations and risk transfers.
